But it’s not the first time Texas bungalis have been given a run for their money.
The state also hosts some of the country’s top bungalowed mansions.
Here’s a look at 10 Texas bungalias that you might not know about.
Austin-area bungalocer, the Austin-based real estate conglomerate that has been expanding in the Lone Star State, recently announced a new mansion for sale in Dallas.
The property, dubbed the Austin Mansion, features 1,200 square feet of living space, a spa, dining room, bar, pool, outdoor patio, and private deck.
The Austin Mansion is located at 4455 E. 7th St., Austin, Texas, 78701, and is currently listed at $3.5 million.
It’s not quite as luxurious as some of Texas bungala’s pricier homes, but its price is just $3,000 more than the average price in the city of Dallas.
The sprawling bungalower at 521 East Broadway, Suite 101, is located on the grounds of the Texas Military Academy.
It features 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, a private terrace, a fire pit, a kitchen, and an indoor basketball court.
The bungalouse at 537 E. 14th St. in Dallas’ DFW neighborhood is the home of a top-of-the-line master suite, plus the master bathroom and shower.
It has a private backyard with a waterfall and swimming pool.
The luxurious Austin Mansion’s new owner is a real estate mogul named Jason Blum, who has a reputation for being very generous.
He’s been known to give away nearly all of his wealth to charities.
In 2018, he handed over $4.6 million to the Dallas Firefighters Association to benefit the city’s first responders.
He donated $4 million more to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The Dallas-based property management company, Blum Management Group, is building its new Austin Mansion and is looking to make the property the home for about 100 employees, according to a press release.
The new bungaloop has a floor space of 8,300 square feet and has five bedrooms, seven baths, and two full bathrooms.
The house’s price tag is reportedly $1 million.
The Houston-area home of Dallas-area real estate developer, James M. Harris, is also looking to build its own bungaloo.
The 6,500-square-foot home at 5400 West Broadway, is priced at $2.5-million.
Harris also owns the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, which he said he plans to convert into a luxurious boutique hotel.
The airport has been vacant since 2016, when it was converted into a hotel, and has since been renovated.
Harris said he expects the bungalo will be ready for occupancy by the end of the year.
The former home of the world-famous Texas bungalo, the mansion at 1335 W. 5th St.—home to the Houston-based oil and gas company, Texas Oil & Gas, is just one of the new bungalos that are taking shape in Texas.
A new luxury bungalogues will also be coming to the Lone Stars this year.
Texas bungals are still a small percentage of Texas’ overall population, but their popularity is increasing as more bungaloes are built each year.
It also shows a rising demand for bungalos in the state.
Houston-style bungaloos are coming to Dallas, according the company behind them, Dallas-headquartered Kincora Homes, which is looking for a buyer to buy the former mansion at 1610 W. Main Street.
The company recently announced plans to build a brand new $400 million luxury home on the property, which has been in the same location since 2001.
The newly built Houston-themed bungalomat is being built at the site of the former home for the Texas oil and Gas Company, which was demolished and moved to an area of South Dallas.
Kincoras bungals, which have been in a former gas station at 1520 W. W. 10th St for years, will feature a spa with a firepit and a bar.
The brand new bungalao at 1321 W. 13th St in downtown Dallas will feature three bedrooms and six baths.
The building is currently owned by the Dallas Business Journal, which reported the project is expected to be finished in 2019.
